01/29: Guerilla Mentoring Event

Looking for some guidance in your career? Need some support from someone who understands what you’re going through in these STEM streets? In celebration of National Mentoring Month VanguardSTEM is running a one-time Guerilla Mentoring event for our community of women and gender minorities of color in STEM. This (virtual) event is on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 from 6:30pm-8:30pm EST / 3:30pm-5:30pm PST. Mentees will have the opportunity to meet with mentors of their choosing working in academia, industry, science policy, the nonprofit sector and more to receive career, educational and professional advice, all guided by our Decolonized Mentorship framework. This workshop series will provide an opportunity to evaluate your program’s mission and vision to create an action plan to meet your goals. Pulling from the expertise of organizers, non-profit professionals, and executive leadership, we’ll be providing you with the knowledge and resources to create lasting change for your communities.

Session #1 Understanding your Organization’s Theory of Change: How do we move from vision to action? In this session we explore the importance of defining your organization’s mission and vision to provide a framework for building your organization’s theory of change.
